Just thought I'd share this with the blogging world... Very interesting.
The story behind the video:
"Greg Stubbs is the founder and managing director of Katse Fish Farms. He believes that we need to be custodians of the planet for our children's children and is committed to running his operation in a responsible manner.
The consumption of seafood has increased five-fold in the last five decades. The demand cannot be met by historical fisheries and the expansion of aquiculture is inevitable in order to reduce pressure on wild seafood stocks.
The Katse trout project lies in the Lesotho Highlands and has become a regional leader in aquaculture, addressing the environmental concerns regarding fresh fish farming. The local Ha Lejone community receives royalties for all fish farmed in the reservoir.
The high quality trout is processed in well managed environments by the Three Streams Smokehouse in Franschhoek, and each step can be traced and controlled. The smoked range is available at Woolworths stores under the Royale Highlands Trout brand.
This is part of Woolworths Fishing For the Future initiative -- our commitment to selling responsibly sourced seafood."
It's been a very long while since I've blogged, but I will be updating my blog frequently from now on ;)
